A 23 week abortion? But how is that possible? On every abortion debate on these boards, pro choice people are always claiming that they are rare and only done when a woman is in immediate threat of death. Or that the baby is somehow dying.
Hmmmmm............
not a third trimester abortion, which ARE rare. Second trimester are common and the major reason is for severe fetal deformities which normally don't show up until then.
I agree that what happened was horrible, but I see no connection to procedural safe abortions. This is an isolated incident..unfortunate & cruel yes, but really having nothing to do w/what everyone considers a normal abortion.

But this is an example of how some people see human life, as something to get rid of when its inconvienent...
I don't understand, the mom KNEW she was killing it.... so why is she suing? She came there for one reason and she got it? Does it matter how it was done? It wasn't considered as humans by many so why does she have a problem with it?
IF this story is true, it reeks. I smell an agenda. At any rate, I don't see how the doctor can be charged with the crime of murder. He wasn't even there. The person who put it in the plastic bag is the only one who can be charged with murder.
What sounds fishy to me is this woman was conscience during this? As the mother, she would be the legal guardian after the birth. It would be her directive as to the care this very, very premature baby could receive. No, she could not say at that point stuff it in a plastic bag and throw it out, BUT she could say not to use "extraordinary" measures to keep it alive. At 23 weeks it would not survive without long term extreme care. In that case, nature would be allowed to take its course. That would not be murder.
To me this sounds like this woman is looking for a big malpractice bankroll. Perhaps she even has the legal backing of the pro birth people with their own agendas.
