I'd had that thought back then as well...that once the curtain actually came down on the Bush Era and there were no more lines of it to be written or actions of it to be defended, that people might eventually resign themselves to the fact that one way or another a lot of things really did go wrong, and the reasonable course to follow now was to do our best to clean some those up a little. But no. The Bot Brigades have only become more shrill and irrational since the Inauguration...more disjointed and more disconnected from reality. It isn't a very encouraging sign at all...

Hey - we're the Bot Brigade! *gets confused, bumps into bot in front*

Did you read that "Memories of the Depression 1929-1939" thread's link - the person's recollections showed that the Republicans of the 20s and 30s thought just the same way they do today. Interesting how both groups fall along the same lines generation after generation.

Not unless you include that it was the Bush Administration that was responsible for implementing the legislation.

The thread title is wholly inaccurate, and should be corrected.

The thread isn't about Bush, it was Obama's role in the loss of 78 billion and yes, he did have a role in it....

Actually, this thread is titled "OBAMA ADMINISTRATION overpaid $78 Billion to banks", and that is inaccurate since the bail-out was passed while Bush was in office, and it was the BUSH ADMINISTRATION that distributed the money to the banks. So the title of this thread is clearly inaccurate.

The thread is NOT about Obama's role, or McCain's or anyone else's who voted for the bailout. This was H Paulson taking money from the Bush Treasury. The Fox article's headline is deliberately misleading, its intent to trick stupid people with very short and selective memories.

I'm going to hope that the thread title is a LIE, because the alternative is that the OP didnt understand what he was reading. Better malicious than pathetic.

But more importantly, why do you defend lies?

Obama at the time was a member of the LEGISLATIVE branch, while all of the decisions related to uses of the first TARP tranche were made by the EXECUTIVE branch. No matter how the weasels try to spin it, there is no role for Obama or his administration in the alleged difference between $254 billion paid for $176 billion of value. This thread is 100% pure sham...much like most of what the right-wing has ever had to say about anything...
