Subject: Fwd: FW: IMPORTANT REMINDERS- Cell phone numbers go public next month.
I thought this important enough to pass along.

REMINDER:
Cell phone numbers go public next month.
All cell phone numbers are being released to telemarketing
companies, and
you will start to receive sales solicitation calls.

YOU WILL BE CHARGED FOR THESE CALLS.

To prevent this, call the following number from your cell phone:

888-382-1222.

It is the National Do Not Call list.
It blocks your number for five (5) years.
You must call from the phone number you want to have blocked.
You cannot call from a different phone number.

HELP OTHERS BY PASSING THIS ON.

Ummm...AFAIK, they can't use your cell precisely because you pay for the calls.

I smell hoax.

I also wouldn't call that number.

You can sign up on line, just google National Do Not Call List. I Have even signed up friends that do not have the internet and they told me that the sales calls have gone to almost zero.

I just renewed mine on line for the next five years.

You can add your land line and cell line to the list.

I don't have a cell phone.

People have to leave messages on my land line, shout at me within earshot, or chase me down the street. Sometimes they thrust little slips of paper at me with their requests scrawled on them. I usually have my assistants read them for me and decide whether a response is required.

It is tremendously liberating to be so difficult to reach. People need to really want to talk to me to go through the trouble of doing so. Many times, they accomplish what they need without involving me at all. This is good for them, in that it helps them develop self-reliance. It also frees me up to spend more time on C-D Forums, where of course we all have the choice to respond or not to the electronic missives directed at us.

Freedom is the most important gift we are given. Cellphones erode it.

Eschew them.

Reminds me of the phrase "a little pregnant."

HEY GUYS.
I did a reverse telephone directory (in the White Pages) lookup before posting this.
It is a US Government telephone number.
It is legit.
I would never spread junk.

Do your own independent reverse lookup
on whichever site you choose.
