Especially considering this quote of his from his inaugural address:

"We have chosen hope over fear."

To now:

"A failure to act, and act now, will turn crisis into a catastrophe."

True?

How can anyone know the future and how a certain action is guaranteed to prevent a catastrophe???

What is 'this'?

The depression we are in?

If so, the more the government interferes, the longer it will last...

If you meant this topic of discussion....well YEARS....

Democrats need to get this major bill passed before Americans find out more about it. It would look bad on Obama if he cant get his 1st bill passed and Americans approve

So to get support he is scaring Americans.

People have money to spend but with this coming from the president they save it instead of spending it

I really have come to believe that the RW media is spreading the word that there's really nothing bad happening, that everything is actually fine and this is just a fake crisis generated by Obama and his co-cahooters the liberal media to get us all to be afraid and fall in line...in order to...not sure what after that. I cant imagine why you all would believe that, although you've proved you have a phenomenal capacity to believe the silliest tripe and beg for more (*cough* Fox News still # 1 in cable ratings)

The bill as it existed Jan. 29 is online.

Okay, just so we're clear, Bush and Cheney used the politics of fear to get elected the second time in 2004. They suspiciously bumped the "Terror Alert" color system up to orange right before the election (fear of a terrorist attack), they sent out flyers in the south with men holding hands (fear of gay marriage), and they played up a picture of Kerry windsurfing on vacation (fear of elitism). Yep, you should know the politics of fear because you explicitly endorsed it when you voted for Bush in 2004.
