French intelligence's effectiveness is the reason why France has not had an Islamist terror attack on its soil for 10 years despite its considerable problem with Islamists in suburban banlieue ghettos. They also remarked upon how lax the UK and US were in letting in people who could never have been let into France prior to 9/11.
