Rep. John Culberson, TX claims the "stimulus" bill must be urgently voted on today -- because Speaker Nancy Pelosi is leaving at 6:00 PM for an 8 day trip to Europe!

Calls to Pelosi's spokesman went unreturned.

In the rushing, Democrats have now broken their promise to have the public see the $790 billion bill for 48 hours before any vote.

Sen. Frank Lautenberg (D-N.J.) predicted that none of his Senate colleagues would 'have the chance' to read the entire final version of the 1,071-page bill before it comes up for a final vote.

---------------------------------------

And this is government at work for you. This is what Bigger government promises you and Obama promises you. Force fed pages of spending and waste of your tax dollars.
This is why you give them a large part of your paycheck every week so they can pretend to help you while just making government bigger and wasting more of your money.

So when you do your taxes April 15 or everytime you look at your paycheck remember this. They are screwing you!!!! and any money they call stimulus" is really your money they spent and borrowed already and some how they think they are helping you.

Break the chains people.. understand and protect your economic liberty.
Stop asking the government for help because those who are here to help you are the same ones stealing from you every week.

I really don't understand republicans, they are all for dumping billions into war in other countries and bailing out the banks. As soon as we want to spend on something that is good for our country then its wasting tax-dollars.

It's going to be funny when this love fest ends, no really it's going to be sad as hell because those who flew so high will fall so far when BO crashes in the next 4 years. Because this stimulus doesn't kick in for the next 2 years, so how are you going to live until then. A lot of pork but nothing that puts confidence in the US dollar for the buyers of our debt namely Treasurys and Gov Bonds.

I hear that Brazil will be very happy with the stimulus bill since GM is taking all the money they get from it and enhancing their business there and firing even more of their workforce here. Wow, great stimulus for America.

What do you hate most, that you're out of power or that Pelosi is going on holiday?
You knew the stimulus was going to pass, the vote was a rubber stamp at this time.
The stimulus package was on-line.
What's your problem?
We're still pumping lots of money into killing our own citizens and the Iraqis. You're getting your dream.

Same old same old guys. Congress, including the Dems, voted for the USA PATRIOT act without reading it ... why should they start reading bills now?

Christ, do ALL of you people get your so-called news from the Sludge Report, or Fixed News?

Pelosi is not going on a holiday. She is meeting with the Pope and other representatives at the Vatican. She also stated that if there were no vote, she would postpone the trip.

Moving, she may be going to see the pope, but Rome is always a holiday.
I can pop down for business, but hey, it is Rome. It's always a holiday.
You can't walk more than a block without seeing great architecture, centuries old sculpture and fountains, having the opportunity to eat wonderful food, looking through the Vatican Museum.

Of course, I look at every city in Europe like this, most of the ones in Asia, as well.
