Hmmm...The Sarah Palin pick to draw more women didn't work...so they get a black man to become the face of the party to draw more minorities. And to add to his "cred" they will try to wrap the message in a "hip-hop" message.
Something tells me this gimick won't work either.
I think it will backfire. The term "Keep It Real" was born out of the hip-hop culture. Does the GOP think that this latest trick will be viewed as "Keeping It Real" to the hip-hop generation?

I don't think this will raise the # of blacks in their party.
How sad that they feel they must use hip hop in order to gain blacks.
I agree. It reminds me of someone's dad trying to look cool in front of his kids' friends. I just have a feeling it'll fall flat on it's face, and it's almost embarrassing to watch.
GOP never runs on the issues. Always on slogans so who cares.

Democrats are much more inclined to respond purely on emotion, which is why the party insits on using rehtoric and slogans alone. That is probably why Obama kept rather quiet on the specifics of most issues, because getting too technically or in detail would confuse his party.

OMG I can just imagine... Michael Steele wearing a Kangol hat and a thick gold chain with a big GOP elephant symbol rapping about the virtues of the party.
Or Sarah Palin on a Missy Elliot remix rapping about being a maverick.

Actually, what is truly sad is that such trivial and nonsensical things actually do influence black youth.
