Lets. face it, we all know someone from the above list - Even those using this forum.

But, let's face it...even simple pot smoking is causing the deaths of Mexican police and their families (even infant children). You all know what's going on.

It's out of hand - And it's coming here to the USA. The drug gangs are here and now.

I know, all the pot-heads have the same BS story - "Oh, my guy has his own helicopter/plane/boat, and brings in his own stuff"...Yeah, smoke another one you moron...

The point is, now it is a critical situation - Innocent people are dying...Kids for crying out loud.

Should we put an end to it, by turning in the people we know...Even though they will only get small fines. At least they will wake up to the fact that someone is fed up with the horror their stupid habits are causing...God knows they are too stupid to be honest with themselves.

Legalize EVERYTHING and let the Government sell it. Sure there would be some negative effects but the positives would surely outweigh them after a few years.

Better yet,................ legalize, regulate and tax pot. The majority or revenue produced in parts of No. California comes from pot.

Marijuana is California's largest cash crop. It's valued at $14 billion annually, or nearly twice the value of the state's grape and vegetable crops combined, according to government statistics. Indeed, a recent report pegged marijuana as two-thirds of the economy of Mendocino County, a ganja hotbed north of San Francisco. That's not surprising—it costs $400 to grow a pound of pot that can sell for $6,000 on the street.

I don't think pot smoking is causing the deaths.
Prohibition is though, driving up costs so it makes financial sense for gangs to be in the drug business.
The drug gangs have been here since the war on drugs started. In the 20's there were drug gangs involved in bootlegging, what happened to all of those gangs and the violence that came with it? We got rid of prohibition and got rid of the bootleggers.....it was really that simple.

The laws against pot are causing more societal problems than the use of the drug itself.
The legal consequences cause more problems in people's lives than the use of the substance itself.

Arguing to legalize drugs is all fine and good, but I would suggest that while I don't argee with the specifics of the OP's position, turning someone in, I do agree with the underlying sentiment. The fact is that the violence in the streets of both this country and Mexico is fueled by folks who seem oblivious to the human suffering their "habits" create. I would suggest that folks who are inclined to use illegal drugs work for their legalization (and funding for the byproducts of drug abuse) refrain from using such drugs until they are indeed deemed legal, and for those of us who do no use such substances to forcefully impress upon our friends the cost to society that their drug use creates.

Should we start turning in the pot-heads, cocaine and heroin users?

Not heroin users - the Iraq Stock Market is heavily invested in Afgan poppies.
