im no socalist myself but i think that some of socialist policies would great for us to have

i think that their idea of minimum of 35g's a year and not having to work is very appealing

socialist european countries get much vacation time than us 30 days for them and 10 days for us. i think the vacation could be used to help americans travel more and explore the world

however im not completely sold on the idea of universal health because i might not want my goin to the obese or to smokers
and i also dont want tax payer $$ goin to help people who made loans/lived credit when they did not have to

why some americans complain taxes so much im at least some of have jobs and instead emphize raising saleries you just be thankful you have a steady income or a job and live more frugal

maybe its that i want to work for the city or a public organization and i think tax payer is used to raise saleries/ help to social security plan so we could retire younger

forgive me if im trying to regulate your lives

For people who don't work for the government, taxes hurts them in the pocketbooks. Our government has a tendency to run programs inefficiently without much oversight. They are notorious for mismanaging our taxdollars and always fail to deliver what they promise. I brought in less than 45,000 last year but will have to shell out 2,000 in taxes before the April 15th deadline so I'm less than thrilled with government bureaucracy at this moment. : smack:

Very true. Is it really cheaper to have the commons for lack of a better word private. Think about if all our roads were private and you had to shell out money to whomever owned whatever road you were traveling I believe that we are the greatest nation because we had found that balance. I think we forget the things that government does that we take for granted sometimes.

Ummm....I have noticed a trend w/ some of the more liberal posters in here in that they tend to try to discredit the source and think that everything is a conspiracy...have you ever been to the DMV??? Do you really want your life to be run by a bunch of clerks with cruddy attitudes? Since you like socialism so much, why don't you move to a socialist country?

Conservatives always say that this is one so why don't you move to a conservative one. How about Saudi Arabia they stick strictly to conservative values. Low taxes, no seperation between church anstate, no gay marraige. Sounds like a conservative wet dream. Let me assure we won't let you take our country there.

What's up with all of those toll roads then? They only seem to be making more and more while never "paying off" the ones they build.
