WASHINGTON (CNN) – A new national poll indicates that nearly three out of four Americans are scared about the way things are going in the country today.
Seventy-three percent of those questioned in a CNN/Opinion Research Corporation survey released Monday say they're very or somewhat scared about the way things are going in the United States. That's six points higher than in an October poll.
Well, that's up from Oct.
With good reason they are scared - the dems and obama are virtually unfettered to impose their socialistic agenda on the nation.

As more of the damage from the Bush/Cheney years becomes evident, I'd expect that number to climb even higher. Thank goodness we now have some responsible adults in charge. We should wish them well in their efforts to repair the ruin.

I could not agree more! After 8 years of Bush Cheney, you'd think they might give Obama a couple of months, at least, to "fix" things. . . . We will be extrememly lucky if he and his advisors get things moving in the right direction in 2 to 4 years! The Bush Cheney regime RUINED our economy, brought us worldwide hatred and distrust, and benefitied ONLY the wealthty and powerful. . . wake up folks, it would be very hard to find anyone who could be worse, Obama is an excellent choice, and he needs time to turn around the disaster that he inherited!

I believe they are scared due to obama at least tripling the deficit(for starters) - which the lefties don't seem to mind too much now.
Not to mention his other plans that have been discussed.
Scary, scary, socialist, capitulation kind of stuff.
Personally I am surprised that everyone in their right mind is not scared at how things are going.
Just take one look at the banking, housing and unemployment statistics, and you should be afraid.
Many more will lose their jobs in the next couple of weeks. It's going to take some time before things
can turn around.
I know President Obama is scared about how things are in our country right now and urged for a quick
response to the current crisis. He inherited a lot of major problems when he took over the Presidency a month ago.
President Obama repeatedly stated it wasn't going to be easy or quick.
As for the 27 percent who aren't scared- either they haven't been listening or they aren't in their right minds.
Thank goodness we have a President who isn't going to use weak or failed approaches to addressing our nations problems. He might not have all the answers- but he's listening if you have a better one.
I know plenty of people (people who don't listen to the right wing stuff) that are plenty scared of the direction this country seems to be headed.
A good friend of mine who is clearly liberal, isn't paranoid and is intelligent enought to read alternate news sources is also very scared. She isn't impressed with Obama and doesn't see that the economy or the government and what its doing can be fixed. When you listen to the more leftist of liberal thought they have many of the same fears as the more right of the concervatives.
This doesn't bode well for the pleading for people to go out and spend. These 73 percent are going to sock money away (maybe IN a sock) and buy only what is to store up or they absolutely need.

I used to think the survivalists were nuts, but I'm giving a listen to what they say. There are a lot of folks doing the same, and not just the right wing crowd. Folks are getting angry. Angry at what's going on and scared about what its going to lead to when the backlash comes.

I can't believe people are still blaming poor old Bush. Most people (shocked me to find out) do not realize that with the Dem Congress for so long,(how many years and still counting) should be blaming Dems not the poor old Bush. I swear if we get a bad ice storm they blame the man. I am not a Bush lover but start blaming MADAM SPEAKER for the way things are. Yes, we have all lost tons of our money and we're going to lose more to those that do not pay taxes. Why not, we're now a socialistic country!!!! Thanks to Madam Speaker who runs the country. Obama is just her speaker man. After living many years oversees I know what is coming around the corner. You might as well give up your job and stop paying your mortgage, you'll be bailed out by those that do pay their mortgages.
