Try 'goosing' one....if it slaps you, it's a 'she'. If it punches you, it's a 'he'. If it's a white goose, it's a 'honky'. If it escapes, and runs away down the street, you MAY just be in for a 'wild goose chase'.

Very carefully because they can be quite vicious and their bite is definitely a lot worse than their honks ...
Seriously, my daughter (then about 5) was attacked by a large, territorial goose in an uncle's backyard....NOT funny at all. Had several NASTY bites, many bruises, and lots of 'bad dreams' for some time to come. Luckily, no facial damage.
Is this politics, or a contraversy? I guess its pretty contraversial.
