February is Black History Month. Will Obama come up with a "White History Month"?

credibility is a wonder thing!
Now, now, now, you should have known better than to use a word like "credibility." Way too many syllables to make it comprehensible when starting a thread like this.
Black ppl have been shot down every chance we get, so if we get 28 days to celebrate what greatness did as awhole, let us have it. Not only do we need a black history month we need an asian,hispanic,latian,arabian, native american,and indian history month. because the truth is the minorities made America!!
At one time, the achievements of minorities were definitely ignored. But it seems now that everyone wants to denigrate the achievements of white people as some sort of twisted justice. The truth is that different types of groups made America not just one group.
And by the way, oppression, inequality, discrimination, persecution and slavery existed on every continent long before whites set foot in America. The white society was the first society to ban slavery and provide women and minorities with equal rights. To this day, slavery and oppression tend to dominate in many non-white countries of the world.
Plus, white people or any other people can't just be placed in one group. You can't just call it "white history month." What about Italian-American history month, Irish-American history month, Jewish-American history month and Greek-American history month? These groups and others contributed a lot to America and suffered discrimination as a result. Furthermore, most white people in America were not rich slave-owners. The vast majority were indentured servants who didn't even have the right to vote in the early days because they didn't own property. And there were Black, Hispanic, Arabic and Asian slave-owners too as well as Native American/American-Indian slave owners as well. Many groups took part in the international slave trade and the Africans were one of the largest groups to do so.
So, why don't we just have classes in American history that teach about the contributions of all the groups that contributed to America instead of giving months away to specific groups? Twelve months is not enough to pay tribute to the many groups that made America what it is today. And why don't we respect all groups as well? Too many treat white people as if they are the devils of intolerance when a quick fact research will reveal that there are devils in every group of people around the world and throughout history.
One last thought - those of you who think that only men are capable of committing injustices, think again. Research shows that although there weren't that many female rulers throughout history (because they weren't always allowed) a lot of the female rulers that did exist were cruel tyrants as well and many male rulers were actually very fair and just.
A knowlege of true history is power for all while the spreading of ignorance is the downfall of many.
When this country stops separating groups it will lead to better times. My question was somewhat facetious... Not only should there not be a White History Month, there should NOT be a Black History Month!

Have you tried it or you choose to just negatively assume this would occur to try and make your point. And for your information, the United Negro college fund, has provided scholarships to all races. Maybe you should do a little research.
Well, since Obama IS half white (courtesy of his maternal ancestry), and since there's ALREADY a 'Black History Month', over which he has no control, perhaps he could order we observe a "White History Fortnight"..(that is, a White History 'Half-Month').
Alternatively, if he's a stickler for fairness, he COULD order a FULL "White History Month"...but in order that the festivities don't unduly dominate the nation's consciousness, (as 'white' institutions have a way of doing) this 'White History Month" could be divided up into four separate "White History Weeks"...say, for example, a week in January, one in April, one in August, and one in October. In THAT way, everybody is served....Whites technically get their "Month"...(four weeks, added together, IS a month,) while the REST of the population can take comfort in the fact that no matter HOW badly the celebrating whites 'act up', or HOW much they try to 'dominate' things, they only have SEVEN DAYS to celebrate before 'wrapping it up' and it's almost three long months until the next "white quarter month". Thus whites, normally the most dominant of folks, won't be able to get up enough 'momentum' to cause any REAL damage....after all, what can ANYONE do in just a week?
I'm going to hope The President reads this....and if he LIKES it, I hope he gives me credit.
Obama's win has brought out a lot of these morons. I wish we could round up all hate groups like La Raza, the KKK, NAACP, Black Panthers, Stormfront and put them on a island somewhere and drop a few bombs on them. The world would be better off without them.
Stormfront is not a group it is a forum of people who are proud of there heritage and would like to actually see a white person come the year 2100.
