If I wish to edit my own posting, I can change the wording of the thread, but not of the poll. This is a shortcoming of City-Data.
It's actually due to vBulletin, and not necessarily a shortcoming. If you could change a poll question or answers, you could completely change the meaning of said poll.
I have 4 'friends' that are currently unemployed. 2 of them just didn't like their jobs and decided couch surfing was a better choice than working. One was 'laid off', but I'm guessing he's lying about it, since his company is currently hiring for 2 people to take his position. Not one of them are looking for a new job because they're all stoner slackers who couldn't pass a drug test even if they were sober for a month. Too many people are enabling them by letting them stay on their couches.. I mean, they're in their mid twenties!
Yeah, if you make a mistake (or simply want to improve the wording), you can't change it, nor delete the thread. Great feature!
You can report the post where you started the poll and ask the mod to change it. I did that once.
