Yes, they were scheduled to expire. It's not like Obama couldn't do something about keeping them at the same rate though. By not doing so, he is, in effect, raising them. To say it would have nothing to do with him isn't accurate. It has to do with his choice to allow the rates to adjust.

Commercial real estate owner?
Typically stinking rich (in my experience).
I'm more concerned about middle class and lower than I am about commercial real estate owners (know any low or middle class families with a spare office building?).

Then why doesnt Obama extend the tax credit instead of punishing a fragile industry? I do recall Bush asking that these tax credits be continued, but I guess we can all forget that now.
