I doubt there are a single member of the house or senate that would pass an audit that is done during vetting. I think they are a bunch of hypocrites (rep and dems).

Let's collect some money for hard working Americans and audit these crooks!

That's not a bad idea. If they know they're going to be audited for the public, some of them won't even bother running for office, saving everyone time and money!

Oh I forgot, lets send the auditors to the investment bankers and hedge fund managers. Lets collect some money for us hard working Americans!

I think auditing Rush Limbaugh would be a good idea, we may pick up a few mil there!

Limbaugh is small potatoes... Imagine if they looked into Soros or 1/3rd of Hollywood!

I think limiting it to those who are asking to be trusted officials would suffice.

Where to start though? The Senate (6years in office before re-election) or the House (election ever 2 years)? The Senate would go faster and could probably be finished before their election. The house proabably has the most corruption since they have their hand out for election funds practically year round and are more open to bribery.

I doubt any of them would pass an audit as well. Honestly, our tax laws are so convoluted that even experts who do this for a living can't figure it out because there are 20 ways to interpret all those loop holes, exceptions, rules, and what not.
