Has she? She spent taxpayer dollars as mayor like she was pouring pizz out of a boot. She billed the state as governor for staying in her own home!

Perhaps a review of what "success" means is in order

WASILLA, Alaska -- The biggest project that Sarah Palin undertook as mayor of this small town was an indoor sports complex, where locals played hockey, soccer, and basketball, especially during the long, dark Alaskan winters.

The only catch was that the city began building roads and installing utilities for the project before it had unchallenged title to the land. The misstep led to years of litigation and at least $1.3 million in extra costs for a small municipality with a small budget. What was to be Ms. Palin's legacy has turned into a financial mess that continues to plague Wasilla.

She arrived as a newly elected governor with the towns budget in the Black and she left it with it 20 million in the Red.

$20 million?!?

I've lived in remote Alaska-type areas near towns as big as Wasilla.

That is astounding! I couldn't even imagine such tiny towns of 9,000 going into that much debt.

Wow.

I do feel bad for McCain. You can always tell when McCain is just saying what he has to because he gets real smilely and gets a fake enthusiasm. He was forced by the party to take her on as a prop and he always had that fake enthusiasm with her.

When you see him truly engaged there is a depth, power, and wisdom to that man. I wouldn't have voted for him, but I would have respected him before that VP pick and his inability to control his own campaign.

Default No

Initially I was quite enamored with her. Since she abandoned her governorship, I've totally lost faith. Her family fiascos were too much of a distraction, also.

I truly enjoy the spoofs on her, on SNL, though. It got so I couldn't tell the difference between the actress portraying her & the politician.

However, I'm actually Libertarian, for political definition. I think outside of party lines when I consider the options for election results. Too few options as it is.

If Ralph Nader were really into pursuing the role & if he were more charismatic to get the votes - I think he'd be the best overall choice for the country. But short guys with glasses & dry personalities hardly ever win popularity polls.

Dunno whether sarah would make a great president, but I think she would be a superb presidential candidate, and I hope she runs as many times as her health will permit.

We really, really NEED her as a candidate.

You must be kidding. She is a figment of her own imagination. There are several dozen women in Sandpoint, pop <9K, who are more qualified and prepared than she.

Let's not forget. We are talking about leader of the Free World, not the chair of the Women's Auxiliary at the local PTA.

She'd make the Democrat who opposed her the victor, Whether he/she would be a great POTUS is hard to say at this point.

I absolutely disagree.

I don't know why the Republicans would be so hell bent on making the same mistake with Palin, that the Democrats did with Obama ... it's simply beyond me.

Both parties need to get off of the schmooze and start being responsible with regard to their picks for President.
