Two in one week. I wonder was it more tax problems or just personal disgust? How about Geithner's deputy jumping ship? They denied it was tax problems but who knows? Maybe she just wouldn't be a party to nation destruction.

I heard it was tax problems - he actually paid his. He was overqualified.

Geithner needs like 16 deputies and none have been confirmed...and two have withdrawn their names. He's flying solo...and is making up stuff as he goes. He has no idea what the hell he's doing!!! He needs to finish his taxes on Turbo-Tax!
A lot of spin in that story about why he withdrew. Obviously, it was because the parameters of his job, responsibilities and latitude significantly changed after the Daschle withdrawl, and the job was no longer appealing.
All that other stuff mentioned in the story, compensation cuts, family time, current responsibilities etc, is all just to "fuzz up" the actual reason for his change of heart. Gupta had factored that in but found the original offer to be worth the trade off.
CNN anchor Wolf Blitzer said on air Thursday afternoon that Gupta decided that he wants to continue with his medical career and his job at the news network.
"He is a practicing neurosurgeon. He also wants to spend more time with his family -- his wife is expecting another child right now and, of course, he does want to continue as our chief medical correspondent here at CNN," Blitzer said.
You'd have to be a fool to work for Obama or in his administration... Gupta seems to have figured that out before it was too late!
