We went into Iraq long before there were any concerns regarding the economy...at that time inflation and unemployment were both very low.

Although so far there have been alternative suggestions made by the GOP, as time goes by there will probably be a lot fewer but, still plenty of criticism. This nothing new though, it's always like this when one party has total control....what do you think the democrats did for the past 8 years. In fairness though part of the problem is that the party in control doesn't have to pay much attention to the other party if they have enough votes to pass something without them so, you don't get to hear from them unless you watch C-SPAN and listen to the debates....the liberal media isn't going to tell you much other than their criticism.

WWII pulled the country out of the great depression back then because of the enormous amount of people that were required to fight it, as well being needed to build equipment to fight it. War relied heavily on the number of troops available to fight it then, unlike today where so much of it relies on technology. The same went with building weapons and equipment to fight it....everything was made by hand and could be done by unskilled labor (with minimal training), they didn't have any where near the amount of automation they have today.

IN the first place food, gasoline and utitlities began to rise when Bush was voted in. Gas went up 10 cents between Novemeber and January and topped out at over four dollars last year. My utilities raised from $80 a month in November of 1999 to nearly $500 in June of 2007. The cost of milk and bread doubled, and the cost of a chuck roast tripled.

The market will probably level out at 5000. Some big banks as well as foolish small banks will fail and so will some credit card companies. About 50% of the realtors will find other jobs and some of the insurance companies will fail. They need to. Roll your 401Ks into certificates and move all your money to a small town stable conservative bank.

Maybe it is cold, and maybe not. Credit card companies did not have to charge 30% interest, banks did not have to make no-down ARM loans, insurance companies did not have to force home owners to insure dirt or expect all of the insured to pick up the tab for Katrina and Rita, and realtors did not have to ignore federal and state regs to sell a house. But *they* did. When you scam the system, ignore the law and cause harm to others, this is a direct consequence of those acts. You didn't do it. I didn't do it. The people who did are paying for it and we are feeling the pinch.

We will be out of Iraq and Afganistan. This has been a lesson in manners. We cnnot force Democracy on a Theocracy that has been in exixtence since before Moses led the Hebrews out of Egypt. It will not happen. One would think after Viet Nam and Korea we we would learn we no nothing about fighting wars in the Eastern half of he world with an ill-equipt, ill-prepared militiray. Apparently that llittle nistory lesson escaped Cheny and Rumsfield, but not Gen. Clark, Gen. Powell or "Stormin Norman".

Gas prices and home prices are co dependant. If you knew how much oil it took to build an average home you wouldn't have questioned the outrageous gas prices it would just be common sense.

Out of Iraq? Well only if you heard half of what Obama said.

The government has fooled us into thinking it's everyone but them. In reality the government created the conglomerates knows as Fannie and Freddie. They knew so much that they couldn't decide. It's called analysis paralysis.

Ill equipped ill prepared military.... But Clinton had a balanced budget.

Seeing how one war helped to get us in the in the first place, you are probably right.

Well, some families that are going under are going into the military rather than waiting around for a hand-out. Working for it....What a novel idea.

True, bashing people on high taxes would. However,a normal sales tax would not make people lean toward the blackmarket,it would generate revenue,it would also stop the waste of the billions we put into prohibition and the legal system opening up that money to be used elsewhere.

Legalization would not increase usage, and it would create jobs,a new crop for farmers, and restoring truer liberty to America. But what does Obama's attorney general want to do?He wants to ban guns using drug violence as a excuse which would create another blackmarket, and make American's loose more jobs which the gun industry is actually doing well right now, plus American's would loose more freedom.

Prohibition is a stimulus plan for criminals...............
