Thank you Mr. Scrooge. We used to have debtor's prison; shall we bring it back?

Do you think unemployment should run indefinitely at the Fed or State's expense ? At what point would YOU draw the line ?

Why does it take them so long to find a new job? There are plenty of jobs to be had. People just have to be willing to work.

How about joining the military if you can't flip burgers or mow lawns? There's always a job opening there.

Pay, housing and benefits for the whole family. You might even learn a trade.

During depressions, I'd let it run pretty long. Nobody is happy on unemployment. There's plenty of incentive to find work.

Federal money always comes with strings attached, and its those strings the feds use to control the states more than they otherwise can under the Constitution. I hope more states reject federal money, more often...

If there are going to be unemployment benefits they should be entirely a state matter.

The requirements must be pretty low if a 43 year old mom can get in. Her kids too. What a concept. Even if she couldn't qualify, it looks like her family wants to work and help themselves.

ask the folks in South Carolina, Michigan or Ohio where they've lost many of the manufacturing plants. I understand there's mcdonalds and the other minimal wage jobs out there, but when you have 3K applicants apply for one janitor position that should be a clear indication. There aren't many jobs out there in these area's. I have sympathy for anyone who is and has been out of work for months or a year. Collecting unemployement is not living in the life of luxury especially when you have bills that total more than the bi-weekly check.

I'm thankful every day that i have a job, but fearful everyday that it could end tomorrow, you never know... savings can last but so long

You must have skipped past the news reports where they've indicated the servicemen and women's family back home are struggling as well and homes are in foreclosure. Good thought but not accurate.
