Don't even pretend to love freedom and to promote assault. The ideas are in complete contradiction.
I may loathe men who I consider to assault my freedom on a daily basis, but I'll not be resorting to the games of 10-year olds to express juvenile emotions.
Freedom loving? What a joke.... A full-scale performance in lack of class, dignity, and maturity is more like it.
And shall we take this any further to bring up the notion of what the professional standards and privileges of being a journalist entail?
Meh. I seem to remember Bush, Rumsfeld and crew promoting wide spread looting and thievery in Baghdad as a sign of something freedom loving people did. Now that the shoe is on the other foot things are somehow different huh? (Pun intended)
How about the responsibilities and standards of being a head of state? Want to bring up those while we're at it?
Go right ahead. And we'll bring the Senate Intelligence Committee up for the same review. Or the UN? Sound about right?
I'm all for it.
In a relevant discussion, of course. Which this isn't.
You're free to bloviate all you want about the responsibilities and standards of heads of state, but of course, what's very evident is that you've shifted the subject.
I'm standing by my statement: Throwing shoes is for 10-year olds incapable of expressing their emotions in verbal utterances and discourse. And it's certainly not the behavior of a journalist entrusted with the privilege of covering heads of state. I don't even see how that's debateable. End of story.
And thankfully the end of this guy's stories for a few years, as well.
I'm sure his family is proud of him. Definitely a future MLK in the making... Way to be a supporter and nurturer, dad.

A couple shoes pitched at his head is a lot better than what that bastard really deserved.
Ex-President Bush should intervene on behalf of the shoe thrower, to ask for leniency in the 3 year sentence. That is much too harsh for throwing a shoe.
You people that defend the three year sentence are not interested in fairness, but you want revenge: the shoe thrower displayed an act of disrespect for the failed president you still admire.

Bush should have spoken up for leniency back in the first few days. Would have gone a LONG way for his reputation, there, here and everywhere.
But, noooo......
