There are some of the cases here where it's the policy that allows those that admit under pressure that they are gay and are then forced out of the service. There will still be policies that will reflect that service members will be able to serve while admitting they are gay but cannot openly display public affection (as the case now with any couples in uniform).
Remember the move "In the Army Now - 1994" In the Army Now (1994) when their commander asked them to prove they were gay by kissing. The point has been a certain number of discharges that were unneccessary and should not have been followed through only because the military member declared they were gay.
WASHINGTON -- The Army fired 11 soldiers in January for violating the military's policy that gay service members must keep their sexuality hidden, according to a Virginia congressman.
Democratic Rep. Jim Moran said he has requested monthly updates from the Pentagon on the impact of the policy until it is repealed.
Another fine mark on this original post is that the title (and news article) mentions only "Army" but Rep. Moran is quoted as wanting a Pentagon update (meaning an update from all services). Anybody know the other services percentages?
And to think that at the same time, the services are now having to take in people with criminal records...
Times are changing. I heard from a friend of mine that all waivers (age, criminal, etc) will no longer be waiverable after today (March 15th). The minimum level of test scores have been raised and some jobs/positions literally have a waiting list for openings.
Best thing that could have happened to them. Say what you will about the military, it's primarily full of dumb people who are trained to kill, nothing to really glorify.

Why people still bring up Clinton to defend certain "Republicans" is quite humorous.
Know your history. The law has always existed in the military. I brought-up Bill Clinton, not because he is a Democrat nor a Republican (I am neither), but because he made the changes to this law, which is the reason why open homosexual military members are being kicked out.
