We all know that the Rs are all about standing firmly on both sides of every issue; Obama's too busy/Obama's not doing enough, Obama's plan will fail/Our plan has already failed, Obama's talking too negatively about the economy/Obama is talking too positively about the economy, are three ongoing examples. But now comes the Republican stance(s) on health care.

Competition is the ONLY THING that can save health care in the US/If health insurance companies have to COMPETE they will surely fail. It's not that they're not taking a stand, they're taking both sides.

Which is it boyos. Pick a side and stick with it.

Pure capitalism with health care. No protectionism and bureaucracies with regards to choosing doctors and procedures, as well as limited lawsuits for anything other than gross negligence.

Works well in Thailand where many get heart surgery for pennies on the dollar.

I'm suprised that you would refer to the Republicans and their current talking points as lunacy. Don't you realize how many ardent supporters the Rs have on this board. Besides, lunatics should be watched carefully and medicated or hospitalized when necessary. Are you advocating those treatments for Coburn of OK, Boehner of OH or Cantor of VA?

I love how the left make up a few things just to incite (read: troll) something on these sites. Make up a few random statements about things you'd like to see republicans saying, so it'd make your side seem like it knew what it was doing.

No facts or nothing cited. Just a few random sentences to see what flame wars they can start up.

Here's what the right is thinking...Obama has no idea what he's doing and the left worship him solely because he's not W, and that causes them to overlook everything he's doing and wants to do to destroy the country.

There. No mixed signals.

Wow, I just realized my entire premise is bad as I misspelled "dichotomy". Oh, well, I also made the assumption that some (are you therekkevcrawford?) readers on here had a basic awareness of the politcal debates going on in the US, other than "Obama bad" that is.

The American people know that innovation, choice, and competition work," wrote Sen. Tom Coburn, R-Okla. in an Op-Ed (WSJ) titled "Competition Solves Health Care." Of course no R ever touts Coburn's cred, he's an MD!

Yet just this week when the Ds announced the possibility of allowing Americans to "buy in" to a system similar to that enjoyed by Congress, Roy Blunt R-MO jumped in with his concerns that "if the government is allowed to compete it will "push out" all private plans.

So, which is it. Either government plans and systems are so inept and corrupt that any kind of single payer (government-"socialist" to the Rs) system is to be shunned for incompetence? Or is it that they're so good that they'll push out private plans.

Typical Rs, they want it both ways. To paraphrase a famous movie "President", it's not that they don't get it, they just can't sell it! Not anymore.

Is that kind of like having the very person in charge of collecting federal taxes not believing he actually owes any?

Did a republican just invoke the word "fact"..Excuse me while a puke

Everything the OP mentioned has been covered extensively, no links needed. I'll even add to it. Repubs cry about government mandated gun control at nauseum but want government to control abortion, stem cell research, gay marriage etc.
