I am a Conservative and I dislike Palin immensely. There are many Conservatives who are fed up with the religion and abortion talk of the Republican party and leaning more Libertarian. I am far from being a "Conservative" idiot who will stand up for Bush and say that the crisis is all Obama's fault. Or those puppets who will stand up for corporations, no matter how screwed up they can be. Both extremes of the spectrum(Far Right and Far Left) are incredibly flawed and neither represent my views.

If true, you are a grand minority in your party and ill reperesented in Congress.

I'm with you. George Bush used the smokescreen of "conservative" social issues to gain the support of all the people obsessed with religious and abortion issues, while on the other hand shoving corporate-government collusion (AKA, fascism) down out throats. The Libertarian party is about the only reasonable voice out there, IMO.
Sometimes. True in the case of Bush II as well as Richard Nixon. And Bill Clinton loved the free market and Wall Street, bombed several countries, and instituted welfare reform.
The moral: A crafty politician succeeds by stealing the other side's ideas. See Tony Blair for an example from abroad.
Now with our current President, we have a new model. Never totally disagree or agree with anything.

Palin's type of anti-intellectual approach is a major turnoff for me. It makes Conservatives look bad because people like you who do not know much about Conservativism will think that all of us are very religious and anti-science. I happen to dislike religion immensely yet I know that religion was a fundamental part of the creation of this country. As much as I dislike religion, I hate the godless, anything goes Liberal ways even more especially when they try so hard to brainwash kids to live in this utopic BS world where everybody is "equal" the "Heather has 2 Mommies" type of BS and everything is "racism".
"After the past eight years in American politics, it is impossible to reconcile current promises by conservatives for small government with the historical record of President Bush's administration. Most experts on the left and right can find one issue upon which to agree: The federal government expanded significantly after 2001 when George W. Bush was in the White House.
Federal spending stood at about $1.9 trillion in 2000, when Democrat Bill Clinton ended his presidency. In his final year in office, Bush proposed to spend $3.1 trillion for fiscal year 2009. President Obama's budget proposal for fiscal 2010 is $3.6 trillion.
Nor can Republicans blame a Democratic Congress for being responsible for these trends. Much of the expansion took place between 2002 and 2006, when Republicans controlled both Congress and the White House."
