Went to my local Wally mart about ten days ago. Couldnt get any ammo(.22LR) they said the warehouse was out, check back in a few days. Went again earlier this evening. I got the last two boxes of CCI mini mags. Lady at the counter says, there is no more at the warehouse, and ALL US manufacturers of ammo have ceased shipping ammo as of Jan. 10. Couldnt say when new shipments would be made, or if they would be made.
Can anybody else confirm or deny this? What gives?
[MOD CUT] , yeah, I noticed this, too. Wal-Mart's shelves are empty.
Going to have to check my local shop when I get paid...hope they managed to get some. The owner seemed optimistic just before the new year...hope he managed to snag some.

I've been trying to get a nice little stock myself. (Just have a 12ga Rem 870 Mag and a S&W 40). I've noticed its definitely harder to find now. Walmart usually is the cheapest for target rounds. Then Dick's Sporting goods. Last option for me is to go to the closest gun store (but the cheapest 50 pack they carry for the .40 is $20, as opposed to $13 at walmart)
I've found a few here and there at Walmart mainly. Have about 250rounds now.
Shotgun shells are still very easy to find but for my .40 its getting old seeing stores with no stock.
I've been trying to consolidate calibers. I got rid of my .45s, and only have 9mm, 5.45, .223, 7.62x39 and 7.62x54. Just got a Saiga .223 AK variant and totally diggin' the AR mag adapter on it.
The manufacturers aren't ceasing shipments, it's just they're so backed up shipments are slow and unpredictable. Every major supplier is backordered, often weeks, and in some cases, by months.

I was thinking about getting rid of my .40 for something that would be easier to find ammo for. I bought my S&W 40 for $250.00 (my BIL is a cop and got me one from the academy). Went to the local shop last weekend and saw it on sale for $679.00...marked down from $849.00
Yea our Wally Worlds here are dryed up on ammo to. Gunshops are OK though. The hard stuff to get right now is 7.62x39. It's getting scarce. There have been rumors of a halt to imports of the stuff and that has folks spooked and snagging up all they can. I don't blame them. I bought up a bunch of the stuff too but I did it 6 months ago . Same with .308. I have enough components to load >45 Colt and ACP for a while. Bout ten thousand rounds worth..

What arctic said, along with the assertion that *imports* have ceased, is what I was hearing as I made the rounds today. After several hours of finding empty shelves, I finally stumbled upon a shop with a large stock of 400 rd bricks in .22LR and several boxes of CCI Velocitors, As well as .40 hydra shoks, and other stuff. I now have over 2500 rds of varying stuff to feed my rimfire fetish for awhile. And enuf .40 to be comfortable. It's out there, but definatly had to go rootin' round for it.
Seems I was a victim of wally world associate hyperbole........my apologies.
