Not according to your own article...

Ken Gross, former associate general counsel at the Federal Election Commission (FEC) and a campaign finance expert, said there doesn't appear to be any rules that would prevent Mr. Obama from signing book deals while in the White House.

Maybe you should invest a part of all that frantic anti-Obama energy into learning a thing or two. Might be of benefit to you in the long run...

Even with the books he probably has the idea and someone else writes it for him.

semilegal
something that is illegal, but you cant get caught for.
1. Watching bootleg movies off of a streaming sight is semilegal, technically you are violating the copyright laws, but you can't get caught, so who cares!

Book deals are legal; but, if anybody bothered to follow the money trails of these Congressional book deals, I'd bet my bottom dollar someone would go to jail.

They are way to easy a way for big contributors to funnel additional money to a candidate - and the publisher's love them since they are guaranteed a profit.

I don't recall any other presidents being so crass that they has side jobs while they were in office.

Oh don't you worry about me little one, I do quite fine with my knowledge and we all know you are just brilliant!

I think people are just so not use to having a president intelligent enough to write a book... what a great change.

Washington Times - EXCLUSIVE: Obama's $500,000 book bonanza

He's just a gift that keeps giving. Book deals, zipping to Cali for a Jay Leno appearance and ESPN appearances with his basket ball picks.

Never mind that silly economy issue or that they just printed 1 trillion dollars to lend it to ourselves and is going to throw us into hyper inflation.

He has to keep his priorities straight and he just loves campaigning.
Oh grow up. I didn't hear you bellyaching about Bush's constant trips to Crawford, nor how he virtually hid from the American people for the last two years of his Presidencey.

Obama has a book deal. So what? The idea that Obama should have no private life is inane.

I know you're used to a President who can't walk and chew gum at the same time, but those days are gone.
