Darn it Fox has again used soundbites to prove that Democrats are, indeed, responsible for the present economic crisis. I don't think that taking whole speeches these words were part of will prove anything less than what Fox was trying to do. If you don't agree let me hear it.
Sound bites, eh? Yes, that's definitely got the Fox modus operandi written all over it. Anyone could string a bunch of sound bites together to "prove" almost anything, couldn't they? And the really strange thing is, people will run around citing Fox as though their alleged "reporting" means anything.
Timeline shows Bush trying to wedge GSE's out of secondary markets to create more room for the real villains (his friends on Wall Street) to play in. McCain wanders in for some unknown reason, mumbles a few sorry lines, then goes off again on is way to wherever...

How you reached this conclusion, I'll never know. What I heard was McCain sounding the alarm, followed by Barney Frank saying the GSEs were sound and there was no risk of a meltdown. History proved otherwise.
Anyone with half a brain could tell that many mortgages were written with no sound basis for their approval. The way those so-called "liar loans" were described by people I know was that a Wal-Mart greeter could purchase a half-million dollar home. We knew the math didn't add up, and were amazed that the trend continued year after year. Well, it finally came back and bit everyone from behind, didn't it?
