is the only one of Team Obama who is actually doing her job WELL! I have to admit that I'm quite surprised by how easily and quickly she seems to have settled into her role.

I think the organic garden is more style than substance BUT as a photo op. and "feel good" initiative, it's a winner. After all, that's most of what the First Lady does. I like the fact that she is visiting the inner city schools and relating well to the students there and I think it's AWESOME that she's had several events for military families.

The best part about this is that she hasn't been doing the rounds on TV to brag on herself, like her husband's doing. I actually have to give Michelle Obama a thumbs-up.

Apparently not. It only would be if you didn't come in and make a snarky comment.

Yes, doesn't matter if you are democrat or republican, the First Lady is doing fine and surely not the problem in the Fed Gov't...

I agree, she has handled the transition to First Lady admirably. Fairly or not, she will be given tons more press then Laura Bush had and it looks like she will use it wisely -- giving 'air time' to important issues.

I agree. I also like that she is visiting the families of deployed soldiers and is also visiting the wounded warriors. She has shown me that she has actually some compassion for those who sacrifice so much. I think that the inner city school kids will find it very inspiring to have attention from the first lady. Who knows what spark she may ignite in some child's heart.

I am shocked by the lack of rancor in this thread. It's good to see that people (at least here) are actually beginning to judge Michelle on what she is doing rather than the size of her behind or what she wears. What a refreshing change!
