And to think we could've just not bought that plane and funded pretty much all the bonuses AIG was trying to payout.

At least the military doesn't waste money and keeps us safe!
Yes, they did one heck of a job on 9/11 - didn't they????

Give us a break - our national defense is probably not nearly as good as we are told... 9/11 proved that our air defence is sorely lacking - at least the 2nd plane that hit the world trade towers should have been downed by military aircraft if our national air defence was worth a damn.

And the Raptor program should be cancelled immediately. It is just another super-expensive toy that the brass at the Pentagon advance their carreers and contacts thru, and give the shaft to the American taxpayer...

I forget what the price tag is - but it is well over $100 million per aircraft. DOD spending has become absolutely insane - and needs to be reigned in.

The B1 is even more of a joke - at over $1 Billion per plane... And, it's radar evading technology does not work well if there is too much moisture in the air...

Both of these programs should be terminated immediately...

We should go back to building less expensive, maybe less technologically advanced manned weapon systems...

We should be focusing far far far more on unmanned fighter aircraft, anti-ship and anti-aircraft missiles... They are far less expensive, and potentially far far far far far far more lethal than their manned counterparts.

We can't afford outrageously overpriced weapon systems any longer... especially ones for wars and enemies that don't exist any longer with the demise of the Soviet Union.

That's right. Instead of using our tax dollars on something the federal gov't is supposed to provide (military defense), let's spend it on more pork!!!

Guess you still don't get it.... The Defense Department budget is absolutely laden with pork... as a matter of fact - it is the mother of all pork farms...
