So you think the welfare state was a huge success? Well we are headed back into it and this time we may all be on it.
Your link does nothing to suggest that.
I have lived my whole life in states that have provided money to the federal govt. Should we punish those that haven't? Count me in. I want my money back.
I pay a fair share of taxes. I am more then willing to see a govt that uses my money on infrastructure. On the other hand I have a moral opposition to the previous administrations war. I would like the money spent on no-bid contracts for reconstruction of a country that I did not want to socialize by spending our money there to be paid back so I can live in a country that doesn't run on mechanical electrical relays.
well, I have a moral opposition to paying my next door neighbor's welfare check. Yet our elected officials decide that fate, not you or I. It's amazing all the expensive toys our welfare recipients can afford that I cannot.

If your neighbor is abusing welfare report him. Otherwise you are part of the problem.
If your neighbor isn't on welfare but you assume that people you don't know are and are buying toys with their welfare checks then please provide evidence.
A few of my old neighbors had "good" jobs, and they over-borrowed themselves and left us with the bill. I would guess that they ****ed me over a lot more then anyone on welfare has.

well, are you okay with that? i think it is ridiculous for people to be okay with these bailout plans! THEY ARE BEING SCREWED OVER AND THEY SHOULD BE ANGRY.......
I am angry about the bailout a couple of reasons. The first is if you bet the big bucks you personally lose the big bucks. Stock brokers share the winnings so they should share the losses. The second is that I have not yet figured out how to get a piece of the spending into my pocket. I am working on this so there is still hope.
I have known a few people on welfare and they were not cheating because they were genuinely broke and too sick to hold a job. They were not living high on the hog by any standards.
BTW - WOBBLY was a derogatory term applied to members of the International Workers of the World. This was an attempt to form one big worldwide union to protect all workers from the ravages of raw capitalism. I'll have to see if they still exist.
Milton Friedman is dead. His economic theories were a disaster and I don't think anybody in the world will adopt them once again.
LOL!!! Says you!
Milton Friedman is only considered to be one of the most brilliant economists of the 20th Century.
The claim of "maldistribution of wealth" by the left is probably one of the oldest lies of the socialist/marxist mindset. This lie denies that wealth is infinitely created by production; i.e., work, whether from manual labor or other labor. In otherwords, human productivity, in all it's forms. People create wealth for themselves, from earnings and investment.
Thus, wealth is not "concentrated" at the top, but is spread according to the desire of each individual for achievement.
And I didn't take that from any book...those are my words, and too me, this is just plain common sense.

Anything and everything written by either Freidman is complete nonsense. Wealth is created by mining, manufacturing and agriculture using a combination of capital and labor. The owners of the capital have learned how to extract the wealth from the workers in these sectors and concentrate the wealth from the many into the hands of the few. This concentration is the failure of capitalism.

This doesn't make sense. If they're the owners of the wealth, how is it that they're extracting it from someone if they already own it? I may be misunderstanding your point.

Your statement is in error. The owners of capital have provided a means of wealth creation for workers. Without the capital, the labors of workers are of no value.
