Atyourbest's thread about gay segregation reminded me of the 1987 document published in the United States congressional record entitled the Homosexual Manifesto. It reads like this.

Maybe not, but what you said surely reminded me of it, especially when you go beyond simply attacking religious bigotry and start attacking straight people themselves. The homosexual manifesto is a dream of the oppressed becoming the oppressors.
This person has no intention of wanting to understand and over reacts to everything that might give gays/lesbians more rights.
Everything has to revolve around church or God.
I live in an area where gays are heavily mistreated, called dogs, animals, lepers, you name it, and even physically threatened for coming out of the closet. Homophobia like that is contagious.

Can you provide a link to a reputable source for this? I searched quickly, and only saw links to blogs with suspicious names, and to Free Republic, God Hates ****, etc.
I'm thinking this is an urban legend. It certainly reads like something written by a homophobe. Sort of a "Protocols of the Elders" thing.

Thanks for pointing to an unbiased source. There's no entry for it in Wikipedia, even.
Why did you leave out the preamble? That explains that the essay is meant to be a meditation on how oppressed people long to be in the reversed role. That seems to put the entire thing in a totally different light - and it makes discussion between rational people worthwhile.
Without the preamble, it's a hate document. Some will say it reflects badly on gays, and others will think it's fake (as I did). It only makes sense to include the preamble.
