In the past, Republicans have cut taxes while allowing the deficits to increase in hopes of forcing spending reductions. This practice is called starving the beast. Looks like today the Democrat's strategy for starving the beast means spend, spend, spend then try to force tax increases.

This is a very informative story on our national debt and how we got where we are now.

I saw that one when I was online on the Frontline web site today - didn't get a chance to watch it yet - but I will.

They tend to be very fair and non-partisan in their analysis...

And YES - the deficit is a big problem that has to be gottn under control once the economic disaster is behind us.

The insane spending is the economic disaster. It isn't play money. We will reap the reward of our irresponsibility. They hype the recession as the worst economic calamity in 80 years, but it isn't even close. And every time they scare the public with their rhetoric, they grab more control of the private sector.

Good show except for the myth about the clinton surplus. Why does the media keep repeating that when it is not true?

It doesnt take a genius to know basic math.
Problem is washington thinks Americans cant do basic math and that is the reason they act the way they do with your money. To them every problem can be solved with money and when they dont have enough they just print it.
If they can just print it, why ever work again? Money is only worth something if the paper actually has value. Soon I dont think those dollars will be worth anything if you have a room fool of IOU's. Government creates a crisis everytime they ignore the limits of their power and the role of the government.
The welfare state, statism and empire must end if you want to be free again.
You are all born into a system of control of dependancy and because of that you will never be able to see just want you have become.
Slavery still exists in America but this time its not about your color, its about your wallet, your liberty.

It's called the old lady at the casino syndrome. It's all they have now.... If they ran on morals that wouldn't work. Americans needs accessories.

Approximately 9 TRILLION of our 10.6 TRILLION National Debt was created by Republican Presidents ... who were "starving the beast" with their tax cuts.

I guess the "end-result" of their tax-cuts speaks for itself!
