OK, even though I'm no liberal...

I listened to Limbaugh back in the 90's. Nonstop Clinton bashing. Which didn't bother me too much, because I was certainly no Clinton fan. But that's all he'd drone on about. Got to be monotonous and the number of times he'd try to pass off pure BS as real got me turned off completely.

Then, one of his favorite utterances was , "NEVER trust a draft dodger!" Ol' fatso dropped that one like a hot potato when it was revealed that he was a world class draft dodger himself.

All indications are that he hasn't improved over the past decade. Now, it's nonstop Obama bashing, with usual half-truths and outright falsities that are a demagogue's trademark. His loyal dittohead followers must lead miserable lives.

Not quite. Some people are just open minded enough to understand even those we hate can sometimes tell a little truth. I don't care if you listened to the guy a decade ago. I have literally only listened to him 3 or 4 times in my life, and today was one of those days. And you obviously didn't listen, because Obama was not a big part of the show nor was he bashed. In fact, the only time he was mentioned to ask why he would support an action like this that has been shown to be a failure in so many other developed countries.

Today was not typical Rush, today was all about freedom. But of course you probably won't listen because like all the rest, you've have probably allowed yourself to be restricted to thinking based on political affiliation instead of actual research and consideration. Personally, I remain unaffliliated because there is no party that represents everything I am about. If anything, I lean towards Libertarian. Either way, do some research into the Cap and Trade Bill our president so strongly supports and then judge for yourself. Remain unbiased and you will see, this bill is a giant slap in the face of freedom and democracy.

I never met a liberal who thinks for themselves, they all wait until someone lets them know what to say, think or do. Like little robots would. Or like little socialist people waiting for the boss to say something.
This is why I don't listen to Rush.

Rush is a major part of the downfall of the Republican party. Let him keep talking....and the party will die off even faster.

Excuses? Sheesh, every post I've read right up to yours made more sense than Limbaugh EVER did! I used to listen to him years ago whenever we'd travel simply because his show was the only thing we could get on the radio in some areas. He's the reason I finally bought a CD player for our travel van so I wouldn't have to be stuck listening to the fool.

There are some legitimate intellectual conservatives who are worth reading or listening to: George Will, Mona Charen, Thomas Sowell, Jonah Goldberg. Joe Scarborough is intelligent, if not precisely intellectual. (Joseph Sobran was also once in this category, but suffered a stroke and has recently been lapsing into crazed, dark diatribes against "Darwinism" when he produces anything at all).

Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, Sean Hannity, and Bill O'Reilly are notable not for any intellectual defense of conservative thought, but as symbols of undistilled crusading ignorance. They are the heroes of all the real-life Archie Bunkers who hate and despise their intellectual superiors to the point that their hatred becomes, to them, an inverted proof of superiority.

And BTW, I listened to Rush Limbaugh fairly frequently from about 1993-1996. After that he became boring and repetitive as well as dishonest and ignorant.

Tell, me. If old Barry was just a run of the mill white guy that had written 2 biographies at his young age...would you be so smitten?

You have no credibility; zero. In the first place, neither of President Obama's
books are biographies. A biography is one person's account of another person's life, such as Doris Kearns Goodwin's new biography of President Lincoln. An autobiography is someone's account of their own life; that is the
genre that Dreams From My Father belongs in. Then you purport to have read them both? I think not. So no, I'll not be answering any questions for you, nor will I put any credence into your posts. You lost a chunk of forum cred.

Another example of why I would never watch Rush.

Listened to Rush for Years, still do on a rare occasion. Rush will go from making sense one moment to making statements that are not based in fact or all the facts the next, twisting truth is just another lie. Rush is nothing more than an entertainer in my opinion, unfortunately he panders to the hates and fears of many of his listeners and they believe without question, kinda like Saturday Night Smackdown, ya gotta want ot believe.
