The thing is, this is not even a contraversial subject. It's a major action the federal government took.
We should be able to discuss our government and country, regardless of whether it was good or bad. It just might help history from repeating itself.

well, that's one of those issue to be discussed, rather than outright preached. I wouldn't have a problem with it, but I'd understand that someone would.

Well in that case, the teacher was showing an appalling lack of historical context as well as a lack of understanding of current events. She was clearly a moron and I would hope you would challenge her on her complete misrepresentation of the internment of US citizens of Japanese descent.
Wait till they find out the government was running mind control experiments in the 50's. They did get caught though only to do it again in the 70's. I'm sure they wouldn't do that today though. Darn Cold War....
