The Democrat Party just couldn't attain another of its many victories in its destruction of Republican Party officials...
It seems that there was 'prosecutorial misconduct' in trying to get former Alaskan law maker Ted Stevens smeared and successfully prosecuted!

I guess the long arm of the Democrats, and their prosecutors did not quite have this one in the bag, not to mention the fact that the prosecutors were held in contempt!

All charges against Sen. Ted Stevens are dropped

Reporting from Washington -- The Justice Department is dropping all charges against former Sen. Ted Stevens, the 85-year-old Alaska Republican convicted of lying on Senate financial disclosure forms to conceal hundreds of thousands of dollars in gifts and home renovations from a businessman, Atty. Gen. Eric Holder said today.

The case was criticized by the federal trial judge for prosecutorial missteps. Holder has concluded that the conduct in the former senator's trial warrants not only dropping the charges against Stevens, but also a full review of the Justice Department's handling of the case.

"After careful review, I have concluded that certain information should have been provided to the defense for use at trial," Holder said in a statement issued today.

"In light of this conclusion, and in consideration of the totality of the circumstances of this particular case," the attorney general said, "I have determined that it is in the interest of justice to dismiss the indictment and not proceed with a new trial."

That's interesting that you seem to be happy about it, when in fact if it were a democratic senator who had done this very same thing, would you not be calling for his head?

Pardon me, but there was a victory for the democrats. They were able to lie, cheat and make false accusations that stuck to get Stevens unseated - thereby helping them get closer to their 60-vote filibuster proof majority.

We all knew it was going nowhere, not after all the prosecutorial misconduct came out.

Funny how they were so anxious to get him out of his seat with these allegations that OBAMA has put into place people with similar instances but it was ok that the Democrats forgot to pay their bills.
Yet this man was called a lier and worse and this is acceptable.
Boy I sure hope people wake up in this country.
This is total bullsh*t that this was allowed to happen while OBAMA picks have all kinds of financial problems!

Fact: Stevens was indicted, prosecuted, and convicted by the Bush GOP Justice Dept

Fact: Stevens is being "freed" by the Obama Justice Dept.

Those darned facts!
