Obama would be on the right track if he was able to pull this off. He is purposing a no nuke arsenal...

He proposed a reduction in the nuclear arsenals of the U.S. and Russia. Fortunately he's not so naive as to propose a complete elimination of our nuclear arsenal.

When Obama became a member of the Illinois State Senate, his political mentor was former Illinois U.S. Senator Paul Simon (D-Il). Simon had a great reputation and was widely considered to be one of the most ethical members of that body. Ethics and halting nuclear proliferation were two of Simon's
strongest areas of involvement. President Obama involved himself as well, as
soon as he hit D.C. Senator Simon was from southern Illinois and had never
been beholden to Chicago politicians. I suppose their relationship has been
under the radar due to Senator Simon's untimely death.
Bravo to President Obama for actively pursuing a goal that received no attention at all under the Bush administration, and an issue of great import for the world.
