Republicans propose big tax cuts, spending curbs

WASHINGTON — Republicans in the House Wednesday pressed a budget plan that would cut taxes and radically overhaul Medicare, offering a stark alternative to blueprints offered by President Barack Obama and his Democratic allies.

The plan, drafted by Wisconsin Rep. Paul Ryan, the top Republican on the Budget Committee, also freezes overall spending on domestic programs passed by Congress each year and repeals most of the spending in Obama's recently passed economic stimulus bill.

They still have the right to propose alternatives. A week or two ago, the complaint was that they hadn't proposed any alternatives.

Wishful thinking. We Dems will get what we want and there has been talk of using the "Nuclear Option"...

Then need to. No more Mr. Nice Guy - Obviously Republicans only understand bullying, as does any bully. Apparently they don't understand that they've been *****-slapped and put in time out for at least two years.

Just when you think the fools who created this mess over the past 8 years should thank and help the new guy in charge, they come right back with the same-old same-old screaming at the clouds that their policy for the country will work. Does BOehNER and McConnell et al. have two brain cells that rub together?

Exactly. The GOP depended on a broad coalition of evangelicals, the neocons,
traditional conservatives and the Dixiecrats. Bushco broke faith with them all, the utter failure of the K Street Krew disillusioned many. Now everyone who voted for Obama is seeing the incompetence of the GOP, their total dependence on slander, fear and obstructionism, and remembering that all of
this is coming from people who didn't hear them very well in November. They
tried to attract women using an anti-feminist, and to minorities by installing
Michael Steele...boy, did he ever get the cold shoulder. Let them go the way
of the dinosaurs.

Oh, I see what you did there! Without using good grammar, you made a joke about someone's name because, WAIT FOR IT, it's close to BONER!

Yeah, you really do contribute a lot here.
