I'm surprised it took this long for someone to put the picture up of Bush giving a horrified Angela Merkel a shoulder rub. That was much worse than what Michelle Obama did (and I didn't think Obama did anything wrong).
I'm going to post this again until it starts to sink in that Mrs. Obama did not make any mistake and actually the Queen defied protocol by being so warm with her.
Man, it's hard for people to admit they're wrong:
(CNN) - First lady Michelle Obama did not breach protocol by touching Queen Elizabeth II at a reception for world leaders attending the G-20 summit, Buckingham Palace told CNN Thursday.
"It was a mutual and spontaneous display of affection and appreciation between the Queen and Michelle Obama," the Royal Press Office said in a statement Thursday. "The London Summit reception at Buckingham Palace was an informal occasion," the statement also said.
No breach of protocol occurred, according to the Royal Press Office, because Buckingham Palace does not issue instructions about how to address the Queen.
This sort of thinking is dangerous! You dare to attack the Queen of England because michelle did not follow protocol set by another country and show due respect for that protocol!
Boy I hope someone from another country brings watermelon and fried chicken to the White House for dinner and see how you loons react to it!
Yet there is NO protocol against such a dinner it would be offensive in suggestion.
I'm picturing you in a Victorian gown with your hair on top of your head and holding opera glasses as you ask that in a British accent.
Taking watermelon and fried chicken would be mocking and engaging in negative stereotyping. Spontaneously hugging someone is a show of affection, at least in the normal peoples' world.

I think the Obama's made way too much out of seeing the Queen. It was a bit embarrassing. We don't recognize royalty in America, and the PM is the British head of state. I still applaud John McEnroe for refusing to bow to the Duchess at Wimbledon (even though it got him banned from the club).
And another thing the Queen simply had her hand slightly against football player michelle who had ahold of her shoulder in a football grip and I doubt the Queen could have gotten away if she wanted to.
