I hear so many people express dissatisfaction with both parties yet they keep voting for them.

As long as people aren't voting for the Constitutional or Socialist Party...we should big okay.

The likeliest third party to get the most votes, IMO, is the Libertarian party. They just need to get their message out to a broader audience.
I agree. The Libertarians are the 3rd largest party (and have been for some time). If we could only get the MSM on board, we should be good to go!

but leaving the loony left is a ok with you? what a tool!

there will always be extremist elements and extremes are never good as they are people who have some errant wiring and eventually explode.

having read a bit of the drivel you post it is clearly evident to me that you should find out on which side of your head you were dropped, the height of that fall and at approximately what age it occurred. once you have all that info triple the height and feel free to dive. have someone record it and please do preface the taped event by saying "hey hold mah beer, watch this" loudly and clearly.

Who exactly do you think would form the third party that Newt is positioning himself to lead?

The constitutional party would be great except they bring religion - most specifically chrisitianity - in with their politics. It is all over their platform.

As for irony.....how do you think the men who actually wrote the constitution would feel about having a theocracy?

Not possible. The system we have is designed to only benefit two major parties

If we want to advance beyond the two party system, huge reforms will need to be made.

I'm applauding this thread because I think it's the first time that the Dukester wasn't the first to respond to his own post.

There should be no need for a 2012 election. By then the Messiah will have solved every problem we have plus a few more that haven't come up yet. Heil Obama!

First of all it would not be a third party, it would be a second party, as we now have a one party system. You can either vote for our man McCain, or our man Obama. Both the Democrats and Republicans are opposite sides of the same party, and are both bought and paid for. Unfortunately, change would involve the American people pulling their collective heads out of their backsides, and I just do not see that happening any time soon. The best hope we have for real change is a depression so bad it causes each and every citizen real pain. Pain severe enough to get them to turn off American Idol, and Oprah, and pay attention to what their politicians are really doing. I will believe that can happen when I see it.
