Yeah, because improving America's education system; ensuring that all Americans, especially children, have access to quality healthcare; improving the environment and creating a more modern infrastructure is going to hurt your kids! I can understand why you'd prefer the status quo which led to this mess: a continued rise in the gap between the rich and poor; environmental degradation; an education system that ranks as one of the worst in the developed world; a health care system that leaves a higher percentage of the population without access to quality healthcare than in any other developed county... all that would be so wonderful for your children's future...

Do you also still dream of winning the lottery too? The odds of your dreams being successful are about the same.

Yes we are a Banana Republic. We are one of the only countries in the free world among the G-20 that does not have a nationalized Health care Program. Thanks in large to the GOP and there ignorant ideologies... But on a positive note, things will be a changing.

Dig deep in your pocket - that bailout will come from you (and me and anyone who pays taxes and/or works).

China to overtake US as largest manufacturer

By Peter Marsh in London

China is set to overtake the US next year as the world’s largest producer of manufactured goods, four years earlier than expected, as a result of the rapidly weakening US economy.

The great leap is revealed in forecasts for the Financial Times by Global Insight, a US economics consultancy. According to the estimates, next year China will account for 17 per cent of manufacturing value-added output of $11,783bn and the US will make 16 per cent.

Something Americans(especially Americans who have never known any differently) will need to get used to is that the USA is failing and will lose its place as the preeminent nation on earth.....

A lot of Americans find this idea unsettling and deny it is possible.

To me it would be a blessing in disguise except for the fact of the incredible amounts of debt that have been run up to maintain the illusion of being on top...that will be difficult to impossible to overcome without some major upheavals.
