I always saw it as a state thing.
My mom and step-dad had a justice of the peace.
There is nothing on the marriage license that requires you to get it signed by a religious official.
If marriage is such a religious thing, why are atheists allowed to get married?
We all pay taxes and it isn't fair for one group of citizens to subsidize an institution that discriminates against them.
There are churches that are for same-sex marriage:
United Church of Christ
Unitarian Universalist
Metropolitan Community Church
Those are the ones I can readily think of.
Well actually we didnt always have a justice of peace and what I was saying is as far as "legal and government" restrictiions from state to state just have religious weddings for gay people. Then you dont have to worry about issues of state to state problems.
I certainly hope in my lifetime, gay marriage will be more accepted and finally legal in the USA. It will be a great day for America.
Let me ask you this libvoice.
If you are behind this, what will your stance be when pluralists start fighting for their marriages? And they will, you can bet on it!
How will you argue against it? Or will you?

That's a good point.
Or what about pedophiles from NAMBLA, they want to marry 14 and 15 yr. old boys. Where is their freedom?
Wow, the assumptions are hilarious! Do you know who I am?
