I would like to point out that the NRA endorses severe punishment for any use of a firearm against Law Enforcement officers.
Fringe element groups evoking 2nd amendment rights to entitle themselves a violent overthrowing of governance are not endorsed by the NRA or by any responsible gun owner. Whomever means to call themselves republican, conservative, or libertarian behaving in such a way should be dragged out to the scrutiny of daylight. The parties themselves must renounce the behavior.
Given the way the NRA promotes fear of loss of second amendment rights, some responsibility should be accepted by them in this incident. (I said some not all)
If you try to change the way people think in order to gain support for your cause and people act on the ideas you promote, you have some responsibility.

Does it then follow:
Given the way the left promotes the anti-war movement, some responsibility should be excepted by them for the riots in London, France and Germany.

And yet another laid off individual goes on a killing spree...
Better hope the economy recovers soon..
On the other hand, he had in his possession an AK-47, an assault weapon that will fall under the upcoming assault rifle ban. So the man was half right..
so if he had a true AK assault rifle, then it is a true assault rifle and covered under NFA34 by the BATFE and he had to be cleared for it by his local sheriff or he had it illegally.
if it was only a semiautomatic rifle, then it is not an assault rifle and people should stop calling it as such.
would like someone calling a honda civic an 18 wheeler.
