A citizen.. Religious morality is relative. It is easier to give rights to a person based on citizenry which is less relative... but its all relative regardless.

Beastiality is another issue that shouldn't be brought into this, but gay marriage and polygamy go hand in hand and you can't allow one without the other in my opinion.

Utah and Arkansas are my guesses for the last holdouts on gay marriage, providing the US surpreme court doesn't settle the issue by then.
I don't really see how gay marriage and polygamous marriage go hand in hand? As far as I'm aware, polygamy isn't something that is inherent like a person's sexual orientation. I haven't really looked into it, however if someone can show me some studies that indicate polygamy is an inherent trait in humans rather than a social construct, I'd be willing to read them.

It's this kind of thinking ("they don't need a mother and a father") that has resulted in society going down the tubes. Morals are virtually nonexistent and families are in turmoil.

Look at statistics on the number of boys raised by single moms that end up in prison, dropping out of school, on drugs, etc.
One of the main reasons is that single mothers usually have a hard time trying to juggle work, family and finances on their own. There are plenty of children raised by single mothers or single fathers who turn out fine. There are plenty of kids who "end up in prison, drop out of school, on drugs etc" who have two parents of the opposite sex.

It's more about the quality of parenting and the stability of the home. There are no studies showing that children of same-sex parents have any more problems than those of opposite-sex parents. The results of some studies suggest that lesbian mothers' and gay fathers' parenting skills may be superior to those of matched heterosexual parents. There's evidence that girls raised by two mothers often have better self-esteem than those rasied by opposite sex parents.

The Supreme Court may overturn DOMA, forcing states to recognize all marriages from other states. It will not, however, strike down any state's laws against same-sex marriage or force any state to allow same-sex marriage on their turf. It would take an amendment to the U.S. Constitution for that.
