The pirates fired on the navy seals, fire was returned killing 3 of the pirates. Somalia is an impoverished nation, some of the young men that have become pirates have done so out of desperation,............ no excuse here............ just info.

President Obama just got some huge positive press thanks to our military.
Our military did a GREAT JOB but isn't Obama the Commander and Cheif? He's deserves credit as well. He allowed them do their job and boy they did. No jumping the gun or dropping Nukes. Way to go all. Saved the hostage, and killed the pirates with one still gurgling. Maybe if he can offer some intel.
