Idahogie is on record as sayiing that he goes out of his way to flaunt his "gayness" when he KNOWS it going to get a negative response. That's a great way to win friends over to your cause!
If you are "incited" by the sight of a rainbow banner, then you are a bigot, and you can't be relied upon to care about the civil rights of others. You are a lost cause. Bigoted whites in the south were "incited" by having to sit by black people. I couldn't give a crap if they were. They were wrong and so are you.

So, you can continue to be upset by all of the things you mention, perhaps for the rest of your life. Perhaps you'll get ulcers.

Or you could realize that you are wrong, and become a decent human being.

And I'm not gay. I don't know where you got that from. I wouldn't have corrected you, except that it shows just how unreliable you are.

So we put a float in the parade. We have a Loving Day Celebration in the park. We promote concerts and movies.

That's what gays are doing -

Read it again. This time, assume that the only thing you know about me is that I am a liberal. Make sense now?

I can see why you might have been confused about floats and movies, but Loving Day? What does that have to do with being gay?

So, then, you are also opposed to the public display of the Confederate Flag unless there is an historical context such as for a reenactment.

We agree. There is no point in intentionally upsetting people.

And it's good that you pointed this out. Many believe that it's only gay people who care about gay equality and gay rights. It's sad that they see it as such a black/white issue.

In California, where 48% of the population voted to keep same-sex marriage legal, the anti-gay crowd suddenly turned it into a gay versus straight argument. I guess they figured that 48% of Californians must be gay. (If only. )

Does it really change anything? Will gay people love thier partner more? It seems like gay people dont care about shoving thier lifestyle down everyones throat. This issue is discussed and a few threads so I won't go into why I support for gays to have the right to legaly marry.

I will state an observation on the comment above. A true friend of gays would not interfere with civil right that are denied to them.
To me that is not been good friend.

The next one is not shoving anything on anybody's thoat. Are they tellig you to marry someone of the same gender? I do not think so.

You have a great day.

It is not only gay people. I am as straight as they come and have been married for 31 years. I also consider myself fortunate to count a number of gay people among my close friends, and it hurts me deeply that they are discriminated against, especially the fact that they are not able to legally marry. I know couples who have been in monogamous long term relationships for years, of a quality that would be the envy of any couple.

It is not a matter of Gay Rights or Civil Rights - It's a matter of Human Rights. As long as anyone is denied their rights, we are all compromised.
