What with all the people complaining about this country and making noises about leaving, I wonder what the actual statistics for emigration are? I don't know why, but I have the strange feeling that there's a lot more talk than movement going on.

Yes I was seriously thinking about it during Bush years. You want easy money and a cushy life it's best you do renounce your citizenship and leave.

Fred you mean like when immigration offices after bush election blew their wiring??? hahahahahaa
Funny, I didn't hear anything about that complain from canada, or anywhere abroad. I think republicrat would really like china though. Big $$$ there, and no pesky unions to contend with because the gubbermint took care of that nuisance.

Oh I am looking into leaving. I have a medical license so it is not as easy for me. But I am looking into it as are several of my friends.

I have seriously looked into St. Kitts and Singapore. But I will probably end up moving to one of the islands.

I agree. I lived in Vancouver, BC for awhile. Other then taxes being so high, 14% sales tax. You even pay sales tax on buying a home. Have they stopped that yet? Good news is they do not tax lottery or gambling winnings !! Yeah! The crime is lower so I like that. It's ok there.

Do you think the rest of the world will be the same if America falls? Many of the places mentioned are doing fine as long as there is an international power keeping things normal and in check. No nation falls without another taking it's place... The few that even come close in funding would be Japan, China and Russia unless some wild unstoppable war machine kicked in somewhere.

Condi Rice: "You know, America is one of the few places on earth that believes in the diplomatic resolve."

I would love to live abroad but not because I dislike the US or Obama, just because I think it would be a marvelous experience.

However, for those of you who are saying that you would like to leave the US if it gets bad enough....just how do you propose to emigrate? Unlike the US, most other countries have very strict immigration laws. Try getting into a EU country for example, or Australia or even Asian countries...sure, you can visit but to actually get a work permit in these countries?! Good luck!
