Okay, I could use a straight guy (or a lesbian) right about now. I'm just trying to change a light bulb in my house and I'm having trouble even doing that. Pathetic, isn't it?
Well I'd offer to help, but we use bayonet fittings in Oz. Align, push in, twist clockwise and release. I thought it was just screw it in clockwise in the States?

lol... You lost me just by saying "bayonet fittings".
This was a halogen bulb, so it was a little more complicated. I got it done, though.
Homesexuality is not something which would be dangerous to my child so why would I want to use gene therapy on him/her. I can see why someone would want to lower the chances of cancer for example but being Gay is not a disease.
The disease is the intolerance and bigotry towards Gay people and maybe if gene therapy was able to offer hope in that department I would go for it. If my child was going to turn out a bigot then gene therapy might be a great help. Though at the end of the day a human being should develop according to their own conscience and hopefully growing up in an open and tolerant environment bigotry would be a perversion unlikely to occur.
The potential of gene therapy is huge but it can be a slippery slope, human beings should not be treated like dolls at a designer pick and mix of suitable /unsuitable characteristics. We must approach it with caution ensuring that its potential is realised for serious clinical reasons not to make US feel better about being parents.
I could not care less whether my child was Gay or not. My primary concerns as a parent is whether they are healthy , happy and fulfilled. Anything else is completely irrelevant.
