and your point is? The difference between McCarthyism and now is that the socialists already run things, the folks doing the real witch hunts are the democrats in congress. The Left is out to destroy all their political enemies, oh and McCarthy was right, he predicted the crap we have today would come about due to socialist influence on our college campuses and in the media. America, do not let leftwing America haters twist things about as they do. The Left runs things now because Bush was simple minded, but this does not mean to go along with them-no, rather oppose them at every turn. On foreign policy they are already showing how pathetically weak they are, soon domestically their lies and mismanagement will be more of their undoing.

McCarthy was correct. Hollywood was red.
Hollywood is still red. McCarthy is still correct.
What an "inconvenient truth" for the lying left!

If socialism means good health care for all, good retirement benefits, good roads and bridges, good veterans benefits, good social security (insurance for retired people), not going bankrupt if you get sick, etc., I'd like to this country to be socialist like Sweden, Switzerland, Austria, Germany, etc.

Ahh, yes. The ever popular fall back position of the mentally challenged; the old "socialist" libel.
Obama is a socialist because he gave 95% of the population a tax break and raised the top income tax braket from 36% to 39%. Man, do these wingnuts know anything? Did you know that Eisenhower, a Republican, came into office having the top tax bracket at 90% and then raised it up to 92.5%? Did you know that your man-god Reagan had a top tax bracket of 50% from 1980-1986 and then lowered it to 39.6% in 1986? Gee, if you think Obama's 39% top tax bracket is "soaking the rich" then you must be foaming at the mouth over Reagan's even higher tax rates, huh?
Oh, you mean you aren't and you have no idea what the hell you are talking about? What a surprise.

Gosh what is wrong with being a socialite? As long as they attend functions that raise money for worthy charities I think its admirable. I don't know why he has to keep a list of them; just read their names in the society pages.
Now if they were slack jawed troglodyte hillbilly snake handlers I could see amassing a list of their names...

You have to admit that's pretty funny.
Also, "McCarthy was right?"
Man... only on CD.

McCarthy was a calculating fascist who ruled with fear & paranoia [a sickness the GOP gets regularly]. But Backman & other current Republicans are such clowns that none can be compared to McCarthy [they're too dumb

I think that the Republicans as a party have headed to their demise and a third party will awaken during the next few years to be a rival..I dont know what that is, but people who 'were' republicans are too disillusioned with their own party. They see the hypocrisy.
Libertarians I think will be the ones to benefit from the mass exodus from the Republican party perhaps...

I agree but think the process will be very slow & the South will hold onto the Republican Right. Western states are more likely to assume Libertarian identity but overall the Democrats will easily be in charge for the next decade or two.
