Soldier 'Mutiny' Against Obama - Globe Magazine

My neighbor brought me some old trash magazines today; I shred them for cat litter. Imagine my surprise to see the headline for this article. It references Orly Taitz, and says that Donofrio has discouraged her from this activity. I also noticed the use of that mysterious new word, "snarky."
Yes, the GOP has been reduced to getting its information from The Globe magazine, a cheap tabloid.
Nothing but the most credible sources, right? They're busted! Maybe they can have Paris Hilton replace Michael Steele, huh?

I've just sent an email to Senator Bachus requesting that he add my name to his little black book of Socialists.

Since in this F'd up country, expecting our hard earned tax dollars to be used for anything more than lining the pockets of the rich an infamous equates to Socialism in the minds of the GOP, I have no problem wearing the big 'S' on my forhead.

I hope you will do the same.

One person in congress makes a list and then supposedly another does, of course it's a secret list so, who cares what list they make if it's secret....for that matter you don't even know if it actually exists....that's not my point though.

What do these two reps and their lists have to do with every one that's republican. What's with the insult about kissing your a**....who's not getting over something....you're still talking about the election almost 6 months ago.

Read the heading on this thread, Republicans in Congress:the new McCarthyism. Did you make republicans plural because there were two of them that did this or were you referring to all the republicans because of these two?

Where you been? Those wealthy donors are having their chairiable givings deduction reduced. It will effectively be a tax on soup kitchens. Guess the Administration doesn't like competition.

You keep repeating this, are you trying to convince yourself of it?

The ironic part of this is how well the Democrats seem to be handling their own shovel in the midst of burying themselves.

Man... only on CD.

McCarthyism started when I was in grade school and continued really up through when I went in the Army. McCarthy himself made up all the stuff he used to gain the noteriety he was seeking. Edward R. Murrow and some other people stood up to him and exposed that and he was gone in a puff of smoke, but red-baiting did not end. It was all about politics. McCarthy was competing with the "House Unamerican Activities Committee", implying they weren't doing a good job keeping Communist spys out of the government. He always had a list of the Communists, which if you looked at it, was a list of Jews and homosexuals. He instigated a purge of Eisenhower's State Department that way. The HUAC was created in 1934, mainly to target Labor Leaders like the Wobblies, the AFL and the CIO. They maintained something called the "Attorney General's List", which had the names of people and organizations related to these "unamerican" activities. To serve in the military you had to sign a copy of the AGL, swearing you did not belong to any of the organizations, or sympathize with them, or know anyone who did. In the 1960's the List was changed based on court cases from all Left wing organizations to include organizations like the KKK, and the American Nazi Party. I had to sign it in 1968 when I went in the military, and it was used up until 1975 when it and the HUAC were eliminated.

The main thing to know about Joe McCarthy that gets lost amid his made-up military heroism and Red-baiting is that these things were tailor-made for eliminating a business or romantic rival. That quickly became their chef role in society. Even if no evidence was found that a person was guilty of anything, their name usually remained on a "black list" for the rest of their life, ending their career. Only a few, like Murrow and Howard Hughes stood up to the thugs.
