I hope the firefighters get a nice settlement. Unfortunately the stupidity of the elected officials will cost the taxpayers. It's time for discrimination to end, promotions should be based upon merit, not race.

BTW, you can eliminate the word "reverse" from the OP-discrimination is discrimination.

Unbelievable. They'd scream discrimination if the test hadn't been "neutralized", and now they scream that the results of the neutralized exam are discriminatory. Only in America. I hope the losers don't get a single penny, and instead bury their noses in their books and actually learn something. Then and only then will they deserve the promotions.

The sad part is that the smart guys who did well on the test are the real ones to pay. Either they face a loss in court, and subsequently lose out on the promotion they earned, or the court sides with them and they still have to work with the sore-loser underlings that couldn't make the grade. I'd fight the court case, and pack my U-haul at the same time. No one could work constructively in this situation, no matter who wins.
