Now if we can just get the individuals to realize this and how oppressive the federal government is against us all the sooner we can get back to limited government everywhere.

When Texas entered the Union it was by popular vote. The article that was ratified stipulated that if they ever chose to withdraw from the Union they could do so the same way they entered, by popular vote. It was the only way they would have agreed to become a State. Texas is the only State that has this condition on Statehood. I have heard this raised before and I know it has been raised on other occasions before I was born. I forget what majority is required, but I think it's 2/3.
